I just got a fishing report from a friend of mine at Belgrade Lake (Great Pond) It seems the Pike are hitting. Here is an excerpt of an e-mail from him
"Well my brother Bob ( he's 73 ) got to camp Wed. Morning..... went into town to get bait at Wild Things in Oakland in the afternoon. He put two lines out at 3:30........I left him 4 rigged rods to use ........ He caught 8, 12 and 15 # fish..... lost two what he said bigger ones.......one spooled him before it got hung up on a rock .......yesterday in the morning he put the lines out again....10 , 13 , 15 # fish ....then it got too windy to keep them out.......white caps blowing straight in ......same thing right now too windy.... so the bite is on!!!!!!. I'll be going out tomorrow to work on opening the camp and putting two more lines out."
There not stripers but you use pretty much the same gear!
